Reduce Plot Complexity If you are unable to plot or if plotting takes too long, first make sure that you are using the appropriate printer driver, operating system and driver settings. Review the other topics under Printing Tips for more information. If you are still unable to plot, you may need to reduce the complexity of your plot. The most complex components of an M-Color plot are: - Translucent Fills - Raster Images or Bitmap Texture Fills and - Gradient Fills. Translucent Fills If your drawing contains a large number of translucent fills, consider ways of removing some of them. Use translucent fills only when necessary -- do not use them just as a means to get lighter color tones. Translucent fills are always much more complex to process than solid fills so you should use them sparingly. Make sure you do not have a large number of translucent fills on top of each other. Raster Images or Bitmap Texture Fills Raster images and bitmap texturing can quickly increase the processing load of the printing system. If printing is slow or results are incomplete, try printing without the raster images to see if they are the cause of the problems. If yes, consider reducing the number of raster images or reduce the resolution of the images. Gradient Fills Gradient fills are more complex to process than solid fills. If plotting is slow, try reducing the number of gradient fills to see if this makes printing faster. Back Back to top |
